Political and social activism are not for the faint of heart. Both require an activist to stand side by side with some ugly realities and maintain an openness and inner balance. This is simply very difficult to do. Too often good people either callous over or leave because they are overwhelmed.
I have navigated the minefield of activism most easily when I have been meditating daily. I have worked for social programs in some of the toughest cities. The reality that these were invariably were poorly designed and underfunded led me to seek help from the elected officials who craft policy. Much to my surprise I was asked to run for statewide office three times. I have continued to work on political campaigns for decades. The times my meditation schedule slipped, my effectiveness suffered.
Remaining centered through daily meditation while working actively as a political and social activist makes anyone much more effective.
I offer activist meditation instruction and courses tailored to meet any person’s, or group’s unique needs.
