Jan Bidwell has been helping  people manage their outer lives and sculpt their inner landscapes for decades. She is a licensed clinical Social Worker, social activist, front line crisis responder, community activist, psychotherapist, and mediation teacher.  


Jan’s guiding principle has always been to walk with people as they find their own clarity and their own  strength within their community.  She understands fully that no one ever finds their fullness alone, even as we all have to take responsibility for all of our choices in life.

Jan Bidwell, MSW, LMSW, has over 30 years experience in her career. Graduating from Michigan State University Magna Cum Laude with a bachelors in Communication and Philosophy in 1973, Jan also received her Masters of Social Work (MSW) from New York University in 1984. Since then, Jan has been operating Bidwell Consulting, focusing on individuals learn about mediation and how they can integrate it into their lives. 

Teaching mediation for 32 years, Jan can confidently help individuals and professionals enrich their daily lives through meditation. From assisting people who were booked into Lansing City Jail to those seeking help with their daily struggles, Jan has the ability to help with a wide range of situations.
